PoINT Jukebox Manager 8.0 – File system for Optical
Optical jukebox systems are designed for long-term archiving of electronically generated documents and are therefore utmost convenient to match legal storage regulations. PoINT Jukebox Manager provides quick and easy integration of optical jukeboxes into existing IT infrastructures by a standardized software interface. Thus, applications and users can utilise the optical jukebox storage similarly to hard disk systems.
PoINT Jukebox Manager generates a configurable Jukebox File System which represents jukeboxes and devices configured into the system. The file hierarchy of each medium which resides inside the jukebox appears as one sub-directory in the generated file system. Since this Jukebox File System is designed as a native Windows installable file system the sophisticated and comprehensive networking subsystem of Windows is applied to make the Jukebox File System available to network clients.
Due to the built-in networking capabilities of Windows every network client supported by Windows can access the shared Jukebox File System generated by the PoINT Jukebox Manager.
